West Sacramento, CA
A passionate outdoor enthusiast, parent and community leader, Ryan is high energy and despiser of boredom. From peak bagging in the Sierra to swimming across Lake Tahoe and snowshoeing through the back country, Ryan believes in leading an active lifestyle that both challenges and rewards the individual.
With the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop, Sacramento is the Central Valley’s gateway to adventure and the place Ryan now calls Sacramento home. Surrounded by the Sacramento and American Rivers, the region is home to some of the most popular whitewater rivers and wildlife parks in the western United States. Add to that the close proximity of California's Desolation Wilderness and Tahoe National Forests, a lifetime of climbing, hiking and alpine lake paddle boarding is never more than moments away.
I am a certified solo skydiver, Mountaineer, climber, skier, kayaker, paddle boarder, world traveler, entrepreneur, and dog mom. I own a Bernese Mountain Dog, Khalee, who comes with me on most of our adventures. Outside of my outdoor hobbies, I currently work for a Non-Profit Agency, Great Basin Institute (GBI), as a Grants Management Specialist. GBI is an interdisciplinary field studies organization that promotes environmental research, education, and conservation throughout the West. This spring I will be launching a Swimwear line that will reflect my love of mountain lakes, oceans, and everything in between (everything will be sustainably made, and the bikinis are made from recycled fish nets). The best for last, Jake Pereira is the ultimate adventure boyfriend. On our second date we went skydiving!
At the end of the day it is about the memories you make with the people that are most important to you. I am looking forward to bringing Airhead throughout this years travels and include this company in our memories.
Most weekends Annika Mang and her husband are out adventuring with their two little girls aged 2 and 4. In the summer months, her family spends most of their time exploring in their VW Van Dusty to find the best places to SUP, hike or surf.
In the Spring of 2016, Annika Mang created Born to be Adventurous a platform that was founded on the belief that "Adventuring does not end when you have children, it is only the beginning." While encouraging and supporting families to adventure together is a priority, she also believes that taking time to rediscover self-adventure without the kids is important too. This inspired her passion project the Born to be Adventurous Mama's Facebook groups and the Mama's Movement Events.
