OFFICIAL PROMOTION RULES

GRTC SOCIAL MEDIA CONTEST

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.

1. Promotion Description. This promotion is sponsored by Gray Media Group, Inc. dba NBC12, 5710 Midlothian Turnpike Richmond, VA 23225 and GRTC Transit System(“Sponsor(s)”). The promotion begins at 12:00 am Friday, September 6, 2019 and ends at 10:00 am Monday, September 30, 2019. To be considered for the grand prize, final entries must be received by 9:59 am Friday, September 27, 2019. Daily prize entries are cumulative and roll over day to day. Promotion is void where prohibited. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these promotion rules.

2. Eligibility. The Promotion is open to all legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia (except NY and FL) who are 21 years of age or older at the time of entry and who live in the following counties in the station’s viewing area: Stafford, King George, Culpeper, Orange, St. Mary's, Westmoreland, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa, Caroline, Spotsylvania, Essex, Richmond, Northumberland, Lancaster, Middlesex, King and Queen, King William, Hanover, Goochland, Buckingham, Cumberland, Amelia, Powhatan, Chesterfield, City of Richmond, Henrico, City of Petersburg, City of Colonial Heights, City of Hopewell, Charles City, New Kent, Middlesex, Prince George, Surry, Isle of Wight, Southampton, Greensville, Brunswick, Lunenberg, Prince Edward, Nottoway, Dinwiddie. Employees and immediate family members of employees of WWBT-TV, the other Sponsor(s), and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, and their advertising and production agencies are not eligible to participate in this promotion. Only one entry per individual will be accepted, and multiple entries will be disqualified. Text and messaging rates may apply.

3. How to Enter. There is one (1) way to enter this promotion. Beginning at 12:00 am Friday, September 6, 2019, individuals can upload a photo showcasing their favorite way that they play in Richmond, Virginia and fill out the required fields on www.nbc12.com/grtc/ to enter. Entries must be received by 9:59 am Friday, September 27, 2019 in order to qualify. All entries become the property of Sponsor(s), and Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right to use any information submitted by entrants.

No mechanically reproduced, software-generated or other automated multiple entries are permitted. Sponsor(s) is/are not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to transmission, technical, and/or network failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any hardware or software (whether originating with sender or Sponsor(s)), telephonic failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. For online entries, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry will be considered the entrant. An “authorized account holder” shall mean the natural person assigned to such e-mail account by the Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with such e-mail account. A potential winner may be requested to provide proof that he or she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with a winning entry.

By participating in this contest, each entrant represents and warrants that: you are 21 years of age or older; you have the full legal right, power and authority to grant to the Station the license provided for herein; you own or control the complete exhibition and other rights to the Materials (as defined below) you submitted for the purposes contemplated in this license; you are either the parent (or legal guardian) of any minor featured in the Materials or have received the express consent of the parent (or legal guardian) for any such minor to appear in the Materials and to enter the minor’s likeness in the Materials in the contest; and neither the Materials nor the exercise of the rights granted herein shall infringe upon or violate the right of privacy or right of publicity of, or constitute a libel or slander against, or violate any common law or any other right of, any person or entity.

Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the operation of the promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).

Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or the authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by Sponsor(s) in its/their sole discretion, and Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the promotion.

By entering this promotion, entrant agrees that WWBT-TV and the other Sponsor(s) of this promotion may provide entrant with promotional materials and that WWBT-TV may release entrant’s personally identifiable registration information, including but not limited to the entrant’s contact information, email address, and all information contained in the entrant’s social media profile, to the other Sponsor(s) for that purpose. WWBT-TV is not responsible for the use of entrant’s personally identifiable information by the other Sponsor(s) or the Social Media Sites (as defined below).

4. Social Media. This promotion is conducted solely by the Sponsor(s) on www.nbc12.com/grtc. Only entries submitted through the form on this page will be eligible to win.

5. Prize(s). There will be fifteen (15) individual winners (one (1) per day) for the prize dates of September 9, September 10, September 11, September 12, September 13, September 16, September 17, September 18, September 19, September 20, September 23, September 24, September 25, September 26, and September 27. There will be only one (1) winner per day. Prizes are awarded according to the date that the winner is chosen for (prize calendar published on the contest form). Prizes and dates that they are awarded for are listed below:

September 9, 2019 – one (1) $50 gift card to Regal Cinemas and one (1) $50 gift card to Two Guys Pizza for a prize value of $100. Regal Cinemas gift card valid on movie tickets and concessions. Two Guys Pizza gift card not valid for purchase of alcohol.
September 10, 2019 – two (2) $50 gift cards to any Capital Ale House location for a prize value of $100.
September 11, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift card to Shyndigz for a prize value of $100. Gift card expires one (1) year after the issue date.
September 12, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift card to Conch Republic for a prize value of $100.
September 13, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift card to Circuit Bar for a prize value of $100.
September 16, 2019 – one (1) $50 gift card to Sugar Shack and one (1) $50 gift card to Stoplight Gelato for a prize value of $100.
September 17, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift card to Lunch or Supper for a prize value of $100.
September 18, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift card to ZZQ for a prize value of $100.
September 19, 2019 – four (4) tickets to the Science Museum of Virginia’s exhibits and dome valued at $76 and a goodie bag valued at $24 for a prize value of $100.
September 20, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift card to any Saxon Shoes location for a prize value of $100.
September 23, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift card to The Fancy Biscuit for a prize value of $100. Gift card expires one (1) year after the issue date.
September 24, 2019 – one (1) gift certificate for one (1) month of unlimited membership to Cycle Bar at Green Gate for a prize value of $100. Valid for only one (1) month and expires 30 days after activation. Must bring certificate to front desk of Cycle Bar at Green Gate to activate. Winner chooses month for activation and use.
September 25, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift certificate to Lemon Cuisine of India for a prize value of $100.
September 26, 2019 – one (1) $100 gift certificate to any Mellow Mushroom location for a prize value of $100.
September 27, 2019 – four (4) tickets to Kings Dominion Halloween Haunt for a prize value of $280. Tickets must be used between September 21, 2019 and November 2, 2019 and are ONLY valid Friday-Sunday during those dates.
All daily prize winners are eligible to win the grand prize.

There will be one (1) grand prize winner. Five (5) photos from the entries gathered between the dates of 12:00 am on Friday, September 6, 2019 and 11:59 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2019 will be selected by NBC12 employees. In order to qualify as a finalist for the grand prize, submission photos must be of destinations near a GRTC Pulse station or bus route. Submissions will be considered and evaluated based on creativity, lighting, and composition. Selection of the five finalists is in NBC12’s sole discretion. The five (5) finalist’s photos that are selected will be posted on NBC12’s Facebook page and will be voted on by NBC12’s viewers to select one (1) winner. Voting by viewers for the grand prize winner will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, September 27, 2019 and will end at 10:00 am on Monday, September 30, 2019. The grand prize winner will be notified by 12:00 pm on Monday, September 30, 2019.

The grand prize winner will win a one (1) complimentary night stay for two (2) at the Quirk Hotel with breakfast for two (2) the morning after the stay at Maple & Pine Restaurant, one (1) cocktail per person (2 total) and one appetizer per person (2 total) at Bar Solita, one (1) entrée per person (2 total) at Max’s on Broad for dinner, and one (1) dessert per person (2 total) at Tarrant’s Café for dessert.

The complimentary one (1) night stay for two (2) at the Quirk Hotel and breakfast for two (2) the morning after the stay at Maple & Pine Restaurant must be used between September 29, 2019 – September 29, 2020 (excepting blackout dates, which will be provided by Quirk Hotel upon request); food credit to be utilized for breakfast only, cannot be transferred for other items. Cannot be used on alcohol. Reservation must be booked through directions on voucher (through Quirk Sales department) and cannot be made through front desk or by a pop into Quirk hotel with voucher. Reservation must be made at least 3 business days in advance of preferred room check-in date.

The one (1) cocktail per person (2 total) and one appetizer per person (2 total) at Bar Solita, one (1) entrée per person (2 total) at Max’s on Broad for dinner, and one (1) dessert per person (2 total) at Tarrant’s Café for dessert must be used by March 29, 2020. The prizes must be claimed by the winners at NBC12’s office at 5710 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23225. Photo identification will be required to redeem prizes.

No prize may be exchanged for cash, transferred, or assigned by the winner(s). Sponsor(s) reserve the right to substitute a prize, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.

How the Prizes are Awarded. Each day of the duration of the contest, one (1) winner will be randomly selected by NBC12 from all entries received by that date.

The grand prize will be selected as highlighted in the “prize” section above and will be notified by 12p on Monday, September 30, 2019 .

Winners will be notified by email and by phone. Winners will also be announced daily in the 12p news show.

6. Odds of Winning. The odds of winning a daily prize depend on the number of eligible entries received and is randomly selected. The odds of being selected as a Finalist depend on the subjective merit of the photo received, in the Sponsors’ sole discretion. The odds of being selected as the Grand Prize Winner depend on the number of votes garnered by each Finalist.

7. Conditions of Acceptance of Prize. A winner must respond to notification by phone or by email within 24 hours of notification and must take possession of the prize by 5:00 pm Friday, October 11, 2019. A driver’s license, appropriate picture identification, or other proof that entrant is the owner of an account or profile is required to claim a prize. The winner(s) will be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, a publicity release, and a liability release in order to take possession of the prize. Failing compliance with any of these conditions, the winner will forfeit his/her selection and Sponsor(s) shall have the right but not the obligation to select another winner(s) based on the original judging criteria.

8. Winner(s) will be solely responsible for any and all local, state, and federal taxes, as well as license and registration fees, transportation costs, gratuities and other items of an incidental nature. WWBT-TV will report any individual winnings over $600 (in cash or fair market value of goods or services) in a one year period to the Internal Revenue Service. Winner(s) will receive a Form 1099 from WWBT-TV if WWBT-TV reports any winnings to the Internal Revenue Service.

Each winner agrees to the use of his or her name and likeness in publicity without any additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. By entering this promotion, each winner acknowledges that WWBT-TV, and all other sponsors and venues, have the right to publicize and broadcast each winner’s name, voice, likeness, the fact that he or she won, and all matters incidental thereto, including any information that is publicly available on the winner’s social media profile or account, or to which the winner gave Sponsor(s) permission to access, either directly or indirectly, through the Social Media Sites or any related application.

Each entrant agrees to grant the Station a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to edit, telecast, exhibit, rerun, reproduce, use, syndicate, license, print, distribute and otherwise exploit any items (including any photos, videos, audio, or written material) submitted as part of your contest entry (the “Materials”), or any portion thereof, in any manner and in any and all formats and media now known or hereafter devised, without payment to you or any third party;

9. Limitation on Liability. By entering this promotion, each entrant forever discharges and releases Sponsor(s), its/their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, and demands of any kind arising from or in connection with the promotion, including, without limitation, defamation, invasion of privacy, misappropriation of likeness, false light, copyright or trademark infringement, responsibility for property damage, loss of life, or personal injury or death resulting from or in connection with participating in the promotion or from or in connection with use or receipt of the prize(s), however caused. By entering this promotion, entrant fully and completely releases the Social Media Sites, including Facebook, from any liability associated with or related to participation in this promotion. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook.

10. Sponsor’s Reservation of Rights. These official rules are subject to modification by WWBT-TV. In the event of a dispute, all decisions made by WWBT-TV are final and binding. Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right, in its/their sole discretion, to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or the operation of Sponsor’s/Sponsors’ web site(s), or who otherwise acts in violation of these official rules. Sponsor(s) further reserve(s) the right, in its/their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, or modify this promotion if, for any reason, the promotion is not capable of completion as planned (including, but not limited to, for the following reasons: infection by computer virus, technical corruption, force majeure, or non-authorized human intervention that compromises or affects the administration, fairness, integrity, security, or proper conduct of the promotion).
