LiftingUP The Next Generation is a free banquet hosted by Mosaic Ministries of South Toledo to raise support and awareness of the needs of children in South Toledo.

Children living in poverty in South Toledo start the first day of Kindergarten about 75% behind their middle class peers. Preschool programming has been shown to greatly benefit low-income children and close this educational gap. To counter this travesty, Mosaic Ministries (formerly Western Avenue Ministries) has formed a joint venture with Toledo Day Nursery to offer preschool programming at the St. James school.

The goal of the banquet is to raise funds for the successful launch of the preschool, including purchasing a bus for transporting children to the school, and providing scholarships for the families who are not employed. Breaking the cycle of poverty requires investing in the next generation's education, and Mosaic Ministries is committed to impacting South Toledo.

This free event on October 29th will start at 6pm at Parkway Place and include dinner. Dr. Clint Longenecker, local Toledo Strategist—Philanthropist—Apologist, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. Cal Thomas and Bob Beckel will speak at the event as special guests, sharing between them decades of experience in political and public policy jobs. Thomas and Beckel are frequent commentators on cable news shows, and they join their opposing conservative and liberal views while co-writing a weekly column for USA today.
