Moisture is key to the life cycle of mosquitoes. The higher the moisture levels, the better the environment for breeding and maturation. The Mosquito Activity Forecast, created by Swat Pest, INC., is based on a prediction of air and ground moisture levels that account for daily mean temperature, wind speed, relative humidity and solar radiation.

The levels reported are based on the likelihood of encountering mosquitoes:

•Low – dry conditions with little mosquito activity.
•Moderate – increasingly moist conditions with mosquito activity likely.
•High – extended moist conditions with mosquitoes present.
•Extreme - mosquitoes present in very high numbers with feeding activity extremely likely.
