MINNESOTA STATE LOTTERY

Minnesota Lottery Bold North Instagram Free Contest

Wednesday, January 2nd–Thursday, January 31st, 2019

1. To be eligible to win an entrant must:
   • be a registered member of Instagram (www.instagram.com)
   • be 18 years of age or older;
   • post a photo to a public Instagram account using the hashtag #BoldNorthMN AND tag @mnlottery between 12:00 a.m. (CT) on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 and 4:30 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, January 31st, 2019.
2. Employees (including immediate family residing in the same household) of the Minnesota State Lottery (the “Lottery”), employees (including immediate family residing in the same household) of any company that is not eligible to receive a prize from the Lottery pursuant to a contract with the Lottery, and all other persons prohibited by law are ineligible to participate or receive a prize from this free contest.
3. Eligibility will be determined by the Lottery.
4. Participants must submit photo entries via Instagram by using #BoldNorthMN and tagging @mnlottery between 12:00 a.m. (CT) Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 and 4:30 p.m. (CT) Thursday, January 31st, 2019. The total number of entrants is dependent on participation.
5. Voting will run from 12:00 a.m. (CT) Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 to 4:30 p.m. (CT) Thursday, January 31st, 2019 on mnlottery.com. The combination of #BoldNorthMN and @mnlottery will be pulled in and placed on mnlottery.com using the application ShortStack. Photos will be organized by date. The prizewinner will be determined by popular vote on mnlottery.com. The name and city of the prizewinner may be posted on mnlottery.com or Minnesota Lottery social media channels following prizewinner verification. The use of automated voting scripts or programs to manipulate the voting process is prohibited and may lead to disqualification. The Lottery’s decision is final, binding, and conclusive in all matters.
6. An entry may be disqualified from this contest for any of the following reasons:
   • the entrant uses profanity or participates in illegal activity in their photo;
   • the entrant demeans, defames, or ridicules others in their photo; the Lottery, in its sole and exclusive judgment, determines the entrant’s photo is not in the best interests of the Lottery or its marketing efforts.
   • The entry does not meet the requirements of this free contest.
7. The five (5) photos with the most votes will be selected as winners. The one (1) winner with the most votes will receive two (2) tickets to the Winter Beer Dabbler, one (1) University of Minnesota scarf, one (1) pair of I'MN mittens, one (1) Bold North hat, one (1) cooler, and ten (10) Bold North scratch tickets. The taxable value of this prize is approximately one hundred fifty dollars ($150). The one (1) winner with the second highest number of votes will receive two (2) tickets to the Winter Beer Dabbler, one (1) University of Minnesota scarf, one (1) pair of I'MN mittens, one (1) Bold North hat, one (1) cooler, and five (5) Bold North scratch tickets. The taxable value of this prize is approximately one hundred fifty dollars ($150). Each winner with the third, fourth, and fifth highest number of votes will win one (1) University of Minnesota scarf, one (1) pair of I'MN mittens, one (1) Bold North hat, and five (5) Bold North scratch tickets. The taxable value of the prize is approximately fifty dollars ($50). The Lottery reserves the right to substitute or omit prizes based on availability. An entrant may win only once.
8. The Lottery will verify the prizewinner through the electronic Winner Affidavit form. If the Lottery is unable to verify a winning entrant, the Lottery will deem it ineligible and the entrant will not be entitled to any prize.
9. Prizes will be shipped to the prizewinner following winner verification at the address provided in their Winner Affidavit form. If a prize is returned to the Lottery, the Lottery may declare the prize forfeited by the prizewinner and the prizewinner will have no further right to the prize and the Lottery may award the prize to another entrant.
10. THE LOTTERY INTENDS TO USE BOLD NORTH INSTAGRAM FREE CONTEST ENTRIES FOR PUBLICITY AND ADVERTISING.
    By entering this free contest, entrants consent to full use of any and all information they provide on their entry form (including the entrant’s first name and last initial, city, and photo) for publicity, public relations, and content creation purposes, including on Minnesota Lottery social media channels and mnlottery.com, by the Lottery. Prizewinners may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, and appropriate releases and authorizations. Refusal to do so may result in forfeiture of any prize won.
11. The prize is not exchangeable or otherwise transferable. Federal, state or local taxes on any prize are the sole responsibility of the prizewinner. All applicable federal, state or local laws apply. Void where prohibited by law.
12. The official entry dates and voting period of this free contest are 12:00 a.m. (CT) on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 to 4:30 p.m. (CT) Thursday, January 31st, 2019.

14. These free contest rules may be amended at any time by the Lottery. By participating, entrants agree to these official rules and to the decisions of the Lottery, which will be final and binding in all respects.
15. If, for any reason, it is not possible to run all or any part of the Minnesota Lottery Bold North Instagram Free Contest as planned due to, without limitation, errors in these official rules or advertising for this contest, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, human error, weather, or any other cause beyond the control of the Lottery that, in the sole judgment of the Lottery, could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this sweepstakes, the Lottery reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes.
16. By participating, the prizewinner and participants agree to release and hold harmless the Lottery and the Released Parties from any injury, loss, or damage to person, including death, or property due in-whole or in- part, directly or indirectly, to participating in any free contest-related activity, or participation in the Bold North Instagram Free Contest. The Lottery is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of Free Contest materials or the administration of the free contest. If for any reason the Lottery is prevented from continuing with this Free Contest, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the Free Contest is severely undermined by any event including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state, or local government law, order or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, the Lottery will have the right, in their sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel, or terminate the Free Contest without further obligation.
17. Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Free Contest constitutes participant’s and prizewinner’s consent to the Lottery, its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates use of such person’s name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, hometown, and state for promotional purposes anywhere and in any manner or media, without further payment, consideration, consent, or right of review or approval. Prizewinners may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility form and appropriate releases and authorizations. Refusal to do so may result in forfeiture of any prize won.
18. If the Lottery is unable to contact the prizewinner within one (1) day after the end of the voting period, the Lottery may declare the prize forfeited by the prizewinner and the prizewinner will have no further right to the prize. By entering this Free Contest, the prizewinner consents to the full use of their name and city for publicity and public relations purposes. The prizewinner may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, and appropriate releases and authorizations. Refusal to do so may result in forfeiture of any prize won.
19. If the claim is validated by the Lottery, and the apparent prizewinner meets all other eligibility requirements, the prize will be awarded to the player. If the claim is not validated by the Lottery, the claim will be denied, and the player will be notified immediately. If a prizewinner is deemed ineligible to win the Bold North Instagram Free Contest, the Lottery will go the next eligible prizewinner selected to determine whether the individual selected is eligible to win the Bold North Instagram Free Contest. This process will continue until the individual selected is determined to be eligible to receive the Bold North Instagram Free Contest.
20. The Lottery is not responsible for delayed, lost, or misdirected electronic submissions made through the Internet.
21. Only one prizewinner per-household is permitted.
22. All decisions by the Lottery are final, binding, and conclusive in all matters. These Free Contest rules may be amended at any time by the Lottery. By participating, players agree to these official rules and to the decisions of the Lottery which will be final and binding in all respects.
