Inspiration

What does public radio mean to you? Design a mug that represents our all-news station or our all-music station. The choice is yours! Remember, this will be printed on a mug, so simple designs that work within a small space are best. Submit your design before March 5th to be considered.

Design

If chosen, your artwork will be printed on a WCVE mug for the spring 2019 Pledge Drive to help expand local programming.

Submit a high-resolution image (600 dpi raster image if possible) with thick lines and simple colors. Sign your artwork so it can be included in the design.

WCVE must be visible somewhere on the design.

The chosen artist must be willing to work with the station on any alterations needed. They must also be willing to sign a non-exclusive rights agreement. This means you (the artist) can use the artwork however you’d like and WCVE (the station) may use the artwork however we’d like i.e. for future pledge drives, to print on tote bags, within social media posts etc.

Rules

WCVE must be visible somewhere on the design.

Artists may submit up to five designs for consideration. Submit your design before March 5th to be considered. A panel of WCVE staff members will make the final decision on the mug design by March 5th and notify the artist by March 6th. The panel will use the following criteria when choosing the design:

• Does the design represent the station and/or community?
• Does the design work on a mug? Could it be altered to work on a mug?
• Does the design evoke thoughts/feelings/ideas of public radio?

The submitted artwork must be original. Non-original artwork will be disqualified.

Perks

The chosen artist will receive 10 complimentary mugs to share with friends and family and a private tour of the station for you and guests.

The artist will also be featured in a WCVE article, which will be shared widely on social media and talked about on air during our spring 2019 Pledge Drive.

Eligibility

Any fan of WCVE is eligible to participate. This does not include station staff and family members.
